Very interesting conversation from Dr. Dachelle. Love, love her energy. I can actually count how many black female residents have been at Johns Hopkins throughout my 10 years as a technician and student pharmacist there.
She is one of the only who stayed that long even after her residency. That definitely required lots of endurance. Some don’t even make it to the end of their PGY1 or could not wait to get out of that environment. You have to prove yourself more than everyone else and work harder than everyone else.
Dr. Johnson, I was laughing so hard when you mentioned they nurture those they want to stay after their residency. That’s a Fact.
It’s Sad because there is no Black Male or female Pharmacist leadership at Hopkins. You just get stuck and don’t see opportunities for growth.
Thank you Ej. As a new graduate Black female pharmacist, I am still trying to figure out my career path. I am happy to have Pharmsisters I can count on and look up to.
