20 – This Pharmacist Teaches a Required Course on Cultural Competency and Shares Ways to Address Racial Inequities

On this week’s episode, we chat with Dr. Lakesha Butler, a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).

Dr. Butler is the Clinical Pharmacist at two primary care clinics for underserved patients, where she provides medication management services. She has held numerous leadership positions at her institution, in her community and nationally, including being the current President of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA), President of the SIUE Black Faculty and Staff Association, and Immediate Past Chair of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Practice Section.
